ÀṢÀCREATIVE HOUSE

The Living African Stage

Africa doesn't belong in a museum. It belongs on a stage.

Asa Creative House is a nonprofit cultural house built in Atlanta. We bring the real Africa, its music, food, fashion, stories, and languages, to stages, runways, markets, and exhibition halls across America, Canada, and the UK. And through our academy, we teach it to the next generation, wherever in the world they are growing up.

What the house does

Stage, academy and market

The Stage

Live seasons of African performance, fashion, food, and exhibition. Each season belongs to a culture: we begin with Yoruba and Igbo Nigeria. The Igbo season is called Omenala. Real artists, real cooks, real designers, and everyone who works a season is paid, clearly and on time.

The Market

Every season, the makers come with it: designers, food businesses, craftspeople, and brands selling real work to real audiences, and building income that stays in the community.

How a season works

Four steps, every season

  1. A culture takes the stage

    01

    A culture takes the stage

One people's music, food, dress, and stories, done properly and in depth.

  2. The city shows up

    02

    The city shows up

Performances, runway shows, food experiences, exhibitions, and a market, built with local partners: counties, colleges, and cultural institutions.

  3. The children learn it

    03

    The children learn it

The same culture runs through Asa Roots Academy that season, so families live it at home too.

  4. The model copies

    The model copies

Every season is documented so the next city can run it. Atlanta is the first house, not the only one.

Launching from Atlanta

Built in Atlanta. Built to travel.

Asa Creative House starts in Atlanta, Georgia, and is designed from day one to be copied, city by city, chapter by chapter, through local partners who know their ground.

We're building the Atlanta founding team

Producers, teachers, coordinators, creatives, and event-day crews. Some roles are paid per event; some are founding volunteer roles. What we promise either way: the role is clear, the work is real, and nobody's contribution is vague.
